Estos son los ganadores de los Billboard Music Awards 2016
La pasada noche se celebró en el T-Mobile Arena de Las Vegas la gala de los Billboard Music Awards, una de las entregas más importantes de premios musicales de las docenas que organizan en Estados Unidos al año. Como en toda buena ceremonia que se precie, la velada estuvo llena de espectáculos, momentos graciosos y sorpresas. Abría la noche Britney Spears interpretando un extracto del musical que ofrece actualmente en la ciudad e incluye varios de sus éxitos.
Como no podía ser de otra manera, Rihanna también salió al escenario con ‘Love on the Brain‘ de su último disco, ‘ANTI’. Aprovechó la noche para llevarse a su casa el Chart Achievement Award, que se elige según la votación del público. Sin duda la estrella de la noche fue The Weeknd que se llevó a su casa ocho premios, entre ellos: Mejor Canción R&B, Mejor Artista Hot 100, Artista con más canciones vendidas y Mejor Artista R&B.
Le siguió Adele, que fue ganadora de cuatro premios entre los que habría que destacar los de Mejor Artista y Mejor Artista Femenina, una demostración de las ansias que tenía el mundo de la música del regreso de Adele. Recordad que si no fuera por ella, estos premios probablemente se los hubiera llevado Taylor Swift. A pesar de todo, no pudo estar allí para recoger su premio y se proyectó un vídeo en el que agradecía sus estatuillas y se estrenaba en exclusiva su nuevo videoclip ‘Send My Love’. Justin Bieber y Wiz Khalifa se llevaron cada uno dos premios a su casa, y el canadiense aprovechó para cantar ‘Company’ en directo.

Uno de los resultados más sorprendentes de la noche fue el Mejor Album Rap: Dreams Worth More Than Money de Meek Mill se llevó el premio, un genial recibimiento ahora que su arresto domiciliario debería estar a punto de terminar. Competían en esta categoría ‘If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late‘, ‘What a Time to Be Alive‘, ‘To Pimp a Butterfly‘ y ‘Compton’, así que el listón estaba bastante alto. Por su parte, Drake ganó el premio a Mejor Artista Rap compitiendo con Fetty Wap, Future, Wiz Khalifa y Silento. El de ‘Trap Queen’ también ganó un premio al Mejor Nuevo Artista.
La gala terminaba con un homenaje a Prince, que empezó con un emotivo discurso de Questlove, y acabó con el tema ‘Purple Rain’ mientras el escenario se llenaba de luz púrpura. Podéis consultar la lista completa de ganadores aquí.
