Tory Lanez – Old Friends x New Foes

My favourite track from Toronto’s Tory Lanez latest album. It starts slow and melodic and transitions into a medley of hard bars over the piano infused beat, sort of like a soundtrack to day where you start slow as you wake up but then go and get yours.

Lil Skies – Nowadays

Lil Skies has been popping up more and more in the last half a year and some class him as a typical Soundcloud rapper (the Lil and face tattoos gives it away). Although he has been quiet on the controversy front and just making melodic tunes with punchy hooks and lyrics with some substance like this song.

KR – Its On

That fly talk from the young spitter waiting to spread his wings. Something I will put in the morning to get me going.

«let me do my verse over, I could do it better than that» mood®

Daytona – Lately

For the lovers of New York rappers who can rap with finesse and dope NBA metaphors. The beat is solid, new meets the old NY.

Anders nst – Rain

This song from the latest EP by the Toronto newcomer hits the right tone by being ambient. The way he sings the rap lyrics is so chill and cool, reminding me of my city (Toronto) in a similar way when ‘What You Need’ came out by the Weeknd.

That’s why when I first heard of anders in the Fall I felt he was biting a bit of Abel’s style but I think it was more that I got a similar feeling that I had around the time The Weeknd emerged encapsulating the vibe of my city.

Nav – Freshman

Wasn’t a fan of Nav from the get-go and can’t say he is the coolest looking rapper -who coincidentally raps about being cool- but he grew on me. It’s this carefree flossing that he does and makes you feel like you can do it too. With this track, he is gunning for the XXL Freshman List, and I have to support as finally we need new Toronto talent recognized.

Wale – Staying Power

Wale back, ride through the DC with him while he tells you why he is still relevant in a calm flow that you can vibe with a girl. The video is a must watch especially if you are a fan of streetwear and hype Supreme pieces.
